From Oxford and the surrounding area come this seven piece Jazz band consisting of “Baron” Stuart Macbeth (bandleader, vocals, piano, kazoo, composer/arranger), Paul “Bunny” Eros (trumpet, vocals), “King” Martin (trombone, vocals), Muggsy “Westy” West (tenor sax), “Blind” Bill Fadden (guitar/banjo), Buzz Booker (double bass), and John “Hurricane” Gannon (drums). Their music is a fusion of 1920’s, 30’s, and 40s Jazz, Swing, and Blues.
The band recently recorded a session at Maida Vale Studios for Mark Lamarr‘s BBC Radio 2‘s programme God’s Jukebox. The session is due to be broadcast on March 12th. Then during the remainder of the month they’ll be playing in Bristol on March 17th at Motion, then in Oxford on March 26th at The Old Book Binders, then in Bath on March 27th at The Bell Inn – go and see them if you have the chance.
